Alarms, bed leaving, bed sheet, epilepsy, baby door alarm, bed seizure
The SMART, is a multi-function bed-chair leaving alarm. In use, the SMART, can be fixed to a wall, strapped to the bed or chair. Alarm output options are selected by adjusting switches concealed in the battery compartment. The alarm is switched on. As soon as the patient is seated in chair or lays on their bed the alarm arms. When the patient gets up, the selected alarm output is triggered. The alarm can be cancelled by pressing a reset switch or, for difficult patients, a concealed switch can be set to select staff pendent reset only.
The Smart, will function as a bed-chair leaving alarm or as a pressure mat alarm, where the sensor mat would be positioned on the floor next to the persons bed. As the person leaves the bed and stands on the mat, the alarm operates instantly.
An optional infrared beam sensor is available that is fixed to the side of the bed head. A beam is transmitted up to a range of three metres down the bed. As a patient leaves their bed the beam is reflected off their body. The monitor detects this and triggers the alarm. The infrared sensor can be used with the bed and floor mats.
Reliably detects patient leaving bed or chair. AC power adaptor or battery operation. Low battery-power fail detection and indication. Dimensions - monitor 12cm x 7.7cm x 2.5cm. Choice of alarm output options: Voice reminder for bed patient to lie down, voice reminder for chair patient to sit down. Choice of three tone alarms, output to trigger existing nurse call via 6mm 1/4” jack plug, output for transmitter to signal receivers on page four to enable remote monitoring of up to four patients. Alarm volume control, silent (if being used with nurse call or transmitter), medium and high. Choice of two sensor mat sizes for bed type and chair.
Normal push button reset to cancel alarm or security reset option for difficult patients. Alarm delay setting 0, 1 and 2 second. Software controlled alarm output gives the following options: 1, patient leaves bed-chair alarm sounds until reset by care staff. 2, alarm sounds only until patient returns and sits back on bed-chair, alarm automatically reset.
The output from the Smart alarm can trigger various transmitters to enable remote monitoring of multiple bed-chair alarms. Two options are: 1. TX-005 To signal alarm receivers detailed on page 4. This option enables up to four separate Smart bed-chair alarms to be monitored. 2. MON-TX1 To signal Wireless call point monitor detailed on page 12. This option enables up to 80 Smart bed-chair alarms to be monitored.
