Alarms, bed leaving, bed sheet, epilepsy, baby door alarm, bed seizure
The equipment detailed in this page deals with the requirement of providing visual and vibrating warning signals to a deaf person in a public building in the event of a fire. A transmitter connected to a fire alarm panel is used to signal either or both, a Centurion alarm or a vibrating pager.
In operation - a master transmitter is connected to the fire alarm panel via normally closed contacts of an output relay. A connection is made to the monitored backup battery providing 24 volts to the transmitter. The transmitter housing contains a backup battery that is charged at a rate of 8mA. The master transmitter signals any pagers or Centurion alarms that are commissioned to the system every three minutes. If signal loss occurs the pager or Centurion alarm will temporarily display a system or link failure until the next polling signal is received. If a signal is not received the link or system failure will continue to be displayed along with tactile alert.
When the fire alarm panel switches to alarm, the output relay will operate causing the normally closed contacts to open. In this state the transmitter will operate repeatedly until the alarm panel is reset. If the connection wires from the panel to the transmitter perish or are cut, the transmitter will operate repeatedly until the backup battery is exhausted (around 24 hours). If the power connection to the transmitter is removed the transmitter will revert to backup power (around 24 hours) the power status LED will change from green to red and the fault LED will light.
