Alarms, bed leaving, bed sheet, epilepsy, baby door alarm, bed seizure
This alarm is similar to the BC/1 bed leaving alarm, except that it uses a pressure sensitive mat positioned on the floor next to the bed to detect a persons weight. The pressure mat is positioned under the carpet or under a rug next to the persons bed. When the person steps out of bed and stands on the pressure mat, the alarm signal is transmitted instantly to the portable receiver.
The system uses a high quality (Friedland) door chime type of receiver that can be up to 200m away from the pressure mat alarm. The radio transmission is address coded to eliminate spurious operation from similar radio products. The receiver has the two volume settings for the chime and a bright xenon flash. The receiver operates from 2 x “C” size batteries which have a life of about three months in normal use.
The system has other uses apart from as a bed leaving alarm. For example: as a monitor to detect a person leaving a room, or to detect a person entering a restricted area.
