The EL-BM01 is an apnea (cessation of breathing) alarm that is designed to detect reliably breathing movements from a sleeping baby or adult. The monitor will detect breathing movements from a baby weighing 2kg up to an adult. In use, a sensor pad is positioned under the mattress. The monitor is then switched on.
Breathing movements are detected and confirmed by a LED that lights in sympathy with the breathing pattern. If breathing stops for more than 20 seconds or less than eight breaths per minute are detected, the alarm will sound and continue until the monitor is manually reset. If, during setup no breathing movements are detected the alarm will operate as a failsafe feature.
The sensor plate (dimensions below) is covered with PVC-P and is fitted with a 2m connector cord that plugs into the monitor. Normal disinfectant wipes may be used to clean the sensor plate. A 5m extension cord is provided that enables the monitor alarm unit to be located in another room.

A yellow coloured LED lights and blinks when the batteries require replacement. The monitor also performs a battery check when it is switched on and confirms ready for use by producing a series of beeps.
