From the outset, our main objective
has been to provide the patients, elderly and disabled, with the most comfortable sleep system. The other common objective is to make life easier for the carers and staff who care for them. Our aim is to pass on to carers the experience and know how we have acquired in the healthcare sector through the constant development and refinement of our products.
Thanks to this policy we have taken on board all their comments, observations, complaints for the lack of sophistication and features of the present systems currently being used. The problems, encountered on a daily basis in hospitals, nursing homes and the home care, are the same. First and foremost the biggest problem and cause of the development of pressure sores, is that patients who, due to their various ailments, have to lay and sleep on their back most of the time.
Oro mattresses with their pressure relief comfort recess cut this time by two thirds, and by doing so, greatly reduce the development of pressure sores, or in the cases where this already exists, speeds up the recovery process.
In cases where the patients wet themselves and do not call the carer to change the sheets immediately, the infection and complications set in. Sometime in the middle of the night some of the patients fall out of bed and spend all night on the floor. Patients who suffer from epilepsy and have an attack during the night can and do hurt themselves and cause lots of damage.
For these patients we provide the answer by incorporating all the relevant sensors and alarms in our beds and mattresses so that the carers will be notified immediately wherever they happen to be. This in the first place will greatly benefit the patients, make it easier for the carers and at the same time be cost effective for the hospitals as it will enable one carer to take charge more efficiently and of more patients at the same time.
