Adjustable Hospital Beds

Hospital beds range from manual to electric. Manual hospital beds are equipped with a hand crank to raise and lower the head as well as to adjust the bed’s height. Semi electric hospital beds contain some electric controls to raise and lower the head and feet and also feature a manual crank to adjust the bed’s height. The fully automatic adjustable beds, on the other hand, are equipped with electrical controls that take charge of all tasks of lowering and raising the head and feet as well as the adjustment of the bed’s height.

Despite the composition of the adjustable hospital bed, what is most significant is the type of mattress it has. First and foremost a hospital bed should provide efficient musculoskeletal support and secondly they should relieve the pressure on the basic body parts that receive most of the weight, such as the torso and the legs. Last but not least, they HAVE to be comfortable for the patient. Adjustable hospital beds need to be adjustable to enable the patient to independently choose their preferred position. The remote control device should be well located within the patient’s reach to allow the patient to raise or lower their head or legs.
